Türkiye: Gazetecilere Uygulanan Polis Şiddetine Son Verilsin
Anayasa Mahkemesi’nden (AYM) çıkan karara rağmen tutukluluğu devam eden Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) milletvekili Faruk Gergerlioğlu’nun tahliye edilmesi için Sincan Cezaevindeki ‘Adalet Nöbeti’ni takip eden gazeteciler Büşra Taşkıran ve Berna Kişin’e polis müdahale etti. Cezaevi önünde haber takibi yapan gazeteciler darp edildi. Gazetecilerin cep telefonları ve ekipmanlarına el konulmak istendi.
Turkey: CFWIJ Demands An End To Police Brutality Against Journalists
Journalists Büşra Taşkıran and Berna Kişin were physically assaulted by the police while covering demonstrations at Sincan Prison demanding the release of The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Faruk Gergerlioğlu. The police deliberately attacked journalists. Journalists' mobile phones and equipment were sought to be confiscated.
Colombia: CFWIJ Condemns Police Brutality Against Journalists Katy Sánchez And Alexandra Molina
Police viciously attacked Katy Sánchez and Alexandra Molina, reporters of Colombian independent RCN Radio, while they were covering anti-government protests in the capital, Bogota. Security forces impeded journalists from filming the protests and beat them. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns police brutality against journalists. We demand the Colombian authorities conduct a full investigation into the use of disproportionate force and to ensure the safety of journalists. Journalists must freely do their job.

İstanbul’da düzenlenen LGBTİ+ Onur Yürüyüşünü takip eden en az beş kadın gazeteci polis tarafından görüntü alması engellendi. Gazeteciler darp edildi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ), Türkiye genelinde giderek artan polis şiddetini kınıyor. Güvenlik güçlerinden gazetecilere saldırmak yerine, özgür ve güvenli ortamlarda mesleklerini yapmalarını sağlamalarını talep ediyoruz.
Turkey: At Least Five Women Journalists Were Brutally Attacked At The 19th Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride – CFWIJ Condemns The Police Violence
At least five female journalists were brutally beaten and intervened by police while following the LGBTI+ Pride in Istanbul. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns the escalating police violence against journalists in the country. We demand the security forces ensure journalists safety and provide a free and safe environment, rather than attacking them.
Türkiye: Gazeteci Beyza Kural’ı Ters Kelepçe Gözaltına Alan Polisler Hakim Karşısına Çıktı
Gazeteci Beyza Kural Yılancı’ya şiddet uygulayan üç polis hakkında “iş ve çalışma hürriyetinin ihlali” suçundan açılan davanın ilk duruşması bugün görüldü. Mahkeme, gazetecinin davaya katılma talebini kabul ederken, polis memurlarının darp ve tehdit yönünden ek savunma alınmasını talep eden gazetecinin avukatının bu yöndeki talebi reddedildi. Davaya gelmeyen bir polis memurunun bir sonraki duruşmaya zorla getirilmesine karar veren mahkeme duruşmayı 24 Eylül 2021 tarihine erteledi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ), Türk yargısından gazeteciye şiddet uygulayan polis memurları hakkında gereken cezai yaptırımın uygulanmasını talep ediyor.
Turkey: Police Officers Appeared In Court For Deliberately Attacking Journalist Beyza Kural
The trial for three police officers who viciously and deliberately attacked reporter Beyza Kural Yılancı on charges of "violating freedom of work and profession" was held today. The court accepted the journalist's participation in the case. However, the request for additional defence from the police officers about assaulting and threatening Beyza was rejected by the court. The next hearing was adjourned to September 24, 2021. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) demands the Turkish judiciary imposing criminal sanctions for police officers who inflict violence on journalists.
