Journalist Soad Alnagafy posted a video calling upon the Iraqi authorities to evacuate her from India to Iraq as she is diagnosed with Covid-19. The Coalition For Women In Journalism implores the Iraqi authorities to help the journalist as soon as possible.

The guest of Dnevnik N1 television on October 14 was the director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases Alemka Markotić, who talked to reporter Matea Dominiković about the great growth of newly infected people in Croatia. However, just before appearing live on Dnevnik N1, N1 TV crew and professor Markotić were verbally attacked by a young couple.

We documented 145 cases between January 2020 and April 2020, out of which 77 cases took place between March-April, when the pandemic changed the working dynamics of many journalists. Around 32.4% of all cases documented by The Coalition For Women In Journalism involved Covid-19.

Serbian prosecution has dropped charges against journalist Ana Lalić, who was arrested briefly for her Covid-19 reporting in early April. The Coalition For Women In Journalism welcomes the decision and hopes that the authorities will continue to help flourish press freedom in Serbia.

Women journalists in Ukraine have been attacked while reporting various developments on Covid-19 in the field. Many of them have been physically assaulted and intimidated by protestors who had been agitated by the ongoing lockdown to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Covid-19 has come for the news industry in India, and not in a good way.

Journalist Meriem Chorfi, along with two male journalists, was arrested and placed under judicial control by Alegrian authorities on April 2 for their reporting on Covid-19. They will all be prosecuted on charges of “attack on national unity " and "dissemination of publications which may harm the national interest" on the basis of article 79 of the Penal Code.
