Date: November 19, 2020

NBC2 Channel reporter Jenny Lenzini died in a motorcycle crash last Saturday. The Coalition For Women In Journalism is saddened by the news. We express our condolences to her family, relatives and her NBC2 family.

TV reporter Jenny Lenzini, a 26-year-old Crystal Lake native, died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday. The NBC2 and ABC channel correspondent was riding on the back of a motorcycle in North Port, Florida on Saturday when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. While the driver died at the scene, Jenny passed away at the Sarasota hospital, where she was taken with severe injuries.

Jenny was a talented TV reporter on NBC Channel 2 and ABC Channel. She began her career at KTIV in August of 2016 as a producer. KTIV Vice President and General Manager Bridget Breen said about her that "Jenny was a bright light, full of heart, dedication, a rising star in the broadcast industry with an infectious smile. She was authentic, humble and always kind,"

Her former colleague Matthew White, an anchor from KTIV, paid his tribute to her and expressed his condolences to Lenzini’s family and friends.

Derek Kopp, a sports reporter from ABC, also saddened by the shocking news and said that “It was a difficult and heartbreaking weekend for the Waterman family that still feels difficult to grasp. Jenny was taken from us far, far too soon. Please keep the Lenzini family in your thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.”

The Coalition For Women In Journalism is agonized by the news of this sudden loss. We share our deepest sympathies to her family, relatives and her loved ones. May her soul rest in peace. Jenny will always be remembered.
