Belarus: CFWIJ Condemns The Travel Restriction Imposed On Inessa Studzinskaya By State Authorities

Journalist Inessa Studzinskaya, affiliated with Radio Svaboda, was restricted from leaving the country. Inessa discovered the travel ban against her after finding her name on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website. The radio journalist, along with two of her colleagues, was detained on July 26. According to reports, the authorities searched their homes and destroyed the network’s editorial offices in Minsk. CFWIJ condemns the persistent impediments to press freedom in the country. We have repeatedly demanded action to ensure a safe and fair environment for women journalists in Belarus.

Türkiye: Gazeteci Derya Okatan’ın Yargılandığı ‘Rredhack’ Davası On İkinci Kez Ertelendi – Gazeteciler Derhal Beraat Etmelidir

Berat Albayrak'a ait olduğu iddia edilen e-postaları haberleştiren, aralarında Derya Okatan’ın da bulunduğu altı gazetecinin yargılandığı davanın 12’nci duruşması bugün İstanbul’da görüldü. Mahkeme savcılığın dava dosyasının genişletilmesi talebini kabul ederek ve gazetecilerin adli kontrol şartının devamına hükmederek bir sonraki duruşmayı 9 Aralık 2021 tarihine erteledi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak uzun yıllardır haksız şekilde süren bu davada gazetecilerin beraatini talep ediyoruz. Gazetecilik suç değildir.

Turkey: 'redhack' Trial Against Journalist Derya Okatan Postponed For The Twelfth Time – Journalists Must Be Acquitted Immediately

The 12th hearing of the trial against six journalists, including Derya Okatan, who reported on emails allegedly belonging to former minister Berat Albayrak, was held today in Istanbul. The court adjourned the next hearing to December 9, 2021, accepting the prosecutor's request for the extension of the case file and ruling on the continuation of the journalists' travel ban. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) demands an immediate acquittal of the journalists that have been unjustly postponing for many years. Journalism is not a crime.
